Simple huts/cabins for nature enthusiasts

In Cuba there are almost no camp sites. Since camping isn't popular among Cubans, they haven't built any camping infrastructure yet. But all over the country you can find the so-called „campismos“, which are small cottage villages with very basic level of comfort, most of which originally provided outdoor stays for domestic tourists. About 15 or so have been made accessible for international tourism by now, all of which situated within beautiful sceneries. Plus: They're very economic. The food often is humble, though, and you should not compare neither the catering nor the comfort to European or American standards, but you sure will be experiencing pure Cuba!
