Day 1: Havana – Las Terrazas (35 km transfer + 54 km cycling)
We will bring you to the outskirts of Havana (to Guanajay) in order to shorten that first stage. After approx. 50 km or 4 hours of cycling you will reach the recreational site Las Terrazas. You will usually spend the night in a casa particular outside of the park. Several restaurants in las Terrazas offer creole cuisine in nature-oriented ambience.
Day 2: Las Terrazas
This day is at leisure. Explore the park and its surroundings and enjoy some time in the river bath of the Rio San Juan.
Day 3: Las Terrazas – Soroa (20 km)
A steep, but short ascent will lead you to a rarely frequented road in the middle of nature. This stage ends with a wonderful descent to the village of Soroa. The rest of the day can be used for visiting the orchid garden and for hiking in the surroundings, including to the waterfall Arco Iris.
Day 4: Soroa – San Diego de los Baños (58 km)
This stage consists of mostly plain to lightly hilly terrain. Just a few steps away from the hotel in San Diego de los Baños there is an old bath house where thermal springs are used for medical baths.
Day 5: San Diego – Viñales (71 km)
This stage is somewhat ambitious, but surely one of the most beautiful stages in this bike tour. Crossing the park "La Güira" (entry fee required) you will reach the "Cueva de los Portales", a cave that housed the head quartes of Che Guevara's troups during the Cold War Crisis 1963. Continuing the bike trip you will reach Viñales.
Day 6: Viñales
Today you may explore the surroundings on a hiking excursion, learning interesting facts about the mogotes and tobacco cultivation and manufacturing (optional).
Day 7: Viñales - Havana
You will take the Viazul coach* back to Havana, where we will wait for you at the bus terminal to pick up the bike(s).
Possible additional program ...
...Continuing the bike tour to the westernmost tip, Maria La Gorda, with beach stay.
...Transfer from Havana to Varadero or Playa Jibacoa with beach stay.
...Program in Havana.

* Bikes can be taken onto the bus, but have to be paid seperately when checking in (around 3 to 5 CUC per bike) - bikes cannot be registered in advance.
