One of the most urgent problems of the Cuban economy of the early 90ies was the food supply of the Cuban population. The government came up with a program that should resolve this problem rapidly: "La agricultura urbana", emerging urban truck farms directly in residential city zones. As many areas as possible should be devoted to cultivating fresh food. Due to a lack of fertilizers and pesticides many of these truck farms became pioneers of ecological farming. We'll be visiting one of these projects; the organopónico Alamar.
